The Position | Under the direction of the District Director of Information Technology Operations, the Manager, Network and PC Services manages the Enterprise Network Specialist and the Senior Infrastructure Administrator. This position will manage the day to day operations of the District’s infrastructure including but not limited to network routing and switching, wide area network, wireless, information security systems, server, vCenter, ESXi, Microsoft Entra, M365, Active Directory, and all other enterprise infrastructure and telephony services.
Applications are currently being accepted for Manager, Network and PC Services in the District’s Information Technology Department. Generally speaking, hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. However, selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours as directed based on the department’s needs.
Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of network architecture and design, network security and firewalls, network segmentation, implementation of SSL, VPN tunneling for user access and cloud services, application load balancing and traffic management, network address translation, enterprise IP address management, Windows Server/SQL Server/IIS, and Linux. Strong understanding of the Microsoft Office 365 and Azure infrastructure, including tenant licensing, cloud application management, user and application security, and hybrid infrastructure management. Understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP protocol and IP sub-netting, DNS internal and external naming standards, DHCP infrastructure management, and network routing protocols and related technologies such as IPSEC, BGP, IS-IS, 802.11, 802.1Q, QoS, 802.1X, VRF, Fabric, Software-Defined networking, multicast. Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online (365), Exchange and SMTP mail transport services and related architectures, VMware ESXi infrastructure and associated storage area network management and provisioning, and backup solutions. Experience in the design, support, and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Active Directory in a multi-forest/domain environment utilizing both on premise and Azure resources in a Microsoft 365 Hybrid environment. Strong understanding of information security systems including but not limited to Microsoft Defender, Security Operations Center, and self-learning AI solutions. Knowledge of telephony systems such as Microsoft Teams Voice, Mitel telephony systems, emergency mass notification systems, emergency classroom phones, Talkaphones, and analog telephony systems. Ability to develop and maintain network standards and procedures to ensure the District’s network systems are secure, reliable, and performing as planned. Knowledge of establishing and maintaining Data Center infrastructure configurations including but not limited to following District’s standards for building and deploying equipment racks, redundant Power Distribution Units utilizing Uninterruptible Power Supplies, and cabling plant organization. Ability to analyze complex system problems and provide solutions that maximize network performance and application effectiveness. Strong communication skills and the ability to convey important messages in a clear and concise manner. Strong work ethic and ability to maintain performance over long stretches of time and during periods of work overload. Sensitivity and understanding of persons of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and disability backgrounds.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science or a closely related field. Graduate degree in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred. Ten years of progressively responsible information systems experience of which at least five were in a management capacity and five years or more relevant hands-on professional IT experience. Experience in higher education and/or governmental setting is preferred.
Foreign Degree: | Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services
(NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC.
