Job Summary |
Oberlin College invites applications for a Manager of A&S Strategic Initiatives. This is a 12- month, full-time Administrative & Professional Staff position reporting to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S). Working closely with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean, the Manager of A&S Strategic Initiatives will oversee the coordination, communication and implementation of strategic initiatives designed to enhance the educational excellence and increase net revenue for the College. This position holds a one-year term with the possibility for renewal, based upon a positive performance review.
Responsibilities | Working closely with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean, the Manager of A&S Strategic Initiatives will oversee the coordination, communication and implementation of strategic initiatives designed to enhance Oberlin’s educational excellence and net revenue.
The role will involve project management, data analysis, budget and financial analysis, as well as other forms of assistance with special projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will bring flexibility and creativity; strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills; excellent project and personnel management abilities; and careful management of budgets.
The incumbent will be overseen by the Dean and Senior Associate Dean, assisting with the coordination and scheduling of engagements between the Dean’s Office and multiple and varied stakeholders: faculty, academic departments, faculty governance committees, the Academic Advising Resource Center (AARC), the Center for Engaged Liberal Arts (CELA), Park Arts, Communications, Advancement, and Admissions for both the BA and dual-degree BA-BFA, and local, regional, and national associations.
Essential Job Functions | ● Provide administrative support for the Dean and Senior Associate Dean includingorganizing and scheduling meetings● Coordinate and implement strategic initiatives● Project and programming management● Devise assessment for new initiatives, gather data, and provide analysis● Assist with program review of academic departments● Manage budgets related to special projects● Additional duties as assigned by the Dean or Senior Associate Dean

Required Qualifications | ● Bachelor’s degree● Excellent written and oral communication skills● Minimum of 5-years experience with sophisticated project managementpreferably in higher education● Superior organizational skills
and attention to detail● Experience in and commitment to developing collegial professionalrelationships across the range of stakeholders of higher education● Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel to organize information and analyze data● Experience designing and managing educational programs
Ability to:● Plan ongoing work, easily switch between tasks, and follow projects through tocompletion● Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities concurrently.● Oversee project budgets● Work independently and exercise independent judgment and discretion● Work collaboratively across organizational units with a diverse faculty/staff team● Identify and analyze problems, implement solutions, and resolve issues● Work some evenings and weekends● Facility with excel and google sheets
