Manager of Collection Assessment and Resource Sharing Full Description

The Manager of Collection Assessment and Resource Sharing oversees and performs collection assessment activities in alignment with policy and strategic direction, utilizing data and feedback to identify trends and opportunities. This role provides leadership and management for the University Library's resource sharing and delivery services, including interlibrary loan, off-campus library services, and document delivery to the SNHU community, and collaborates with stakeholders across the university to ensure library collections are robust, effective, and support university and learner needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and performs collection assessment, including identifying and implementing evaluation criteria for selection, renewal, and deselection in alignment with policy and strategic direction
  • Provides leadership and management for the University Library's resource sharing and delivery services, including interlibrary loan, off-campus library services, and document delivery; monitors workflows, develops policies, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Performs acquisition functions, including addressing library resource requests and collaborating with stakeholders to identify solutions to resource needs
  • Collaborates with technology and collection teams to use internal and external collection-related data to support assessment and decision-making
  • Supervises staff and student workers performing resource sharing and delivery services, collection assessment, and acquisition functions
  • Collaborates across the Shapiro Library to use and maintain collection assessment/acquisitions tools (e.g. Panorama, EBSCO Usage Consolidation, GOBI) and resource sharing/delivery tools (e.g. OCLC Tipasa, Reprints Desk)
  • Participates in vendor management, communicating with library resource vendors regarding assessment and analysis of library resources
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years of academic library experience
  • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program (equivalent experience in lieu of degree accepted)
  • Experience with collection assessment and analysis practices within academic libraries
  • Knowledge of ILL standards and policies, including copyright compliance
  • Prior supervisory experience
This is a hybrid role based in Manchester, NH; employees must be able to commute to the Manchester office on a regular basis.
