Job Summary 
This Manager of Finance and Administration Public Works supports the Assistant Director of Finance with financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and special projects, while also managing daily accounting operations across various Extension and Extended Campus (EEC) cost centers and sponsored projects. It supervises and trains accounting team members, working closely with leadership to ensure alignment with departmental goals and efficient operations. The role is responsible for preparing financial reports, processing transactions, and assisting with both operating and grant budget management, including monitoring and closeout of public works project grants. Additionally, it ensures compliance with university financial policies and procedures and performs other assigned duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Assists Assistant Director of Finance with reporting, forecasting, analysis, and special projects as needed. Creates numerous regular and ad-hoc financial reports for individual cost centers and projects, DED (Division for Enterprise Development) business units, and the Division overall. Supervises, trains, directs and reviews the work of Extension and Extended Campus (EEC) accounting team members. Work collaboratively with the accounting team leadership to align departmental goals and foster a unified approach to operations. Manages and coordinates the accounting and finance operations of various EEC cost centers and sponsored projects. Responsible for managing daily accounting tasks and ensures timely and accurate completion of accounting duties. Completes various accounting tasks such as voucher entries, requisitions, salary assignments, accounting corrections. Assists Assistant Director with aspects of the annual operating budgets for the Division’s business units and grant budget accounting. Manages grant budgeting procedure for public works projects including monitoring, reporting and grant close out. Ensures compliance with university accounting and financial policies and procedures. Performs other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Two (2) years of experience in accounting or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.

Preferred Qualifications  | Four (4) years of experience in a related field or the equivalent experience in higher education institutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Skills in Financial Reporting and Microsoft Excel. Professional interpersonal communication skills.
