Job Summary | The Manager of Recruitment & Admissions provides leadership, vision, and oversight for the recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and retention of students across all academic programs within the School of Social Work (BSW, MSW, DSW, PhD, minors, and certificates). The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing data-informed enrollment strategies aligned with UTA’s and SSW’s vision, mission, and strategic plan. The manager collaborates with academic leaders, faculty, staff, and university partners to ensure growth, quality, and sustainability of enrollment and retention. The manager supervises admissions and recruiting staff, and is part of the larger Office of Communications, Marketing, and Recruitment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive data-informed enrollment management plan for the School of Social Work. Align SEM strategies with the School’s strategic plan, marketing/communications priorities, and UTA’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. Advise the Dean, leadership team, program directors, and the UTA AVP of Admissions on enrollment strategies, emerging opportunities, and risks. Manage and monitor the recruiting and admissions budget.
Recruitment & Admissions: Collaborate with the UTA Office of Admissions to develop an annual recruitment plan in the School of Social Work that is aligned and works in conjunction with the UTA annual recruitment plan in the Office of Admissions. Manage all recruitment efforts to attract a pool of highly qualified students for SSW’s academic programs. Lead the recruiting and admissions team to ensure efficient, accurate, and mission-aligned admission procedures, processing, and data entry. Develop strong pipelines with community colleges, universities, social service organizations, agencies, and professional associations. Ensure recruiters effectively organize their work to reach and respond to prospective students. Provide expert recommendations to the School’s leadership and AVP of Admissions on improving admissions, recruiting, and retention processes. Provide leadership on improving admissions, recruiting, and retention processes.
Retention & Student Success: Partner with the Office of Student Affairs to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students. Collaborate with the Office of Student & Academic Affairs, staff, and faculty to support data-driven initiatives that enhance student retention. Liaise across the university to support a cohesive, student-centered enrollment experience.
Collaboration & Outreach: Serve as the School’s primary advocate for and manager of UTA’s Slate CRM system. Act as the primary liaison for SSW to university enrollment management offices. Strengthen connections with community organizations, alumni, and professional networks to boost recruitment and build enrollment pipelines. Represent the School of Social Work at conferences, fairs, and community events.
Data, Assessment, & Reporting: Review and assess enrollment dashboards, reports, and metrics to monitor progress. Ensure compliance with federal, state, UT System, UTA, and CSWE accreditation standards related to recruiting, admissions, enrollment, and retention. Develop policies to maintain compliance. Perform ongoing audits of policies, strategies, and procedures for recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and retention functions. Ensure all lead generation, student interactions, and communications flows are implemented in Slate CRM and reviewed annually to determine ROI.
Supervision, Coordination, Integration, & Synergy: Coordinate with staff, SSW leaders, and university offices as needed to achieve goals and objectives. Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for the SEM team. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Communications, Marketing, and Recruitment, the Manager of Recruitment & Admissions is part of a larger team that includes the academic recruiters and admissions counselors, a Communications Manager, Marketing Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Communications Specialist, Multimedia Producer, Web Software Specialist, and a Special Events Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications | Master’s degree in social work, higher education administration, or a related field. Six (6) years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, admissions, or recruiting. Proven success in developing and executing strategic, data-driven enrollment initiatives. Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and enrollment management technology. Supervisory experience. Valid state Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications | Doctoral degree in social work. Experience working in a school or college of social work or with social work students. Familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards, as well as data analytics platforms. Experience managing large-scale admissions operations with high application volumes. Experience in data analysis, reporting, and enrollment forecasting.

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise work of employees as necessary to ensure desired results are achieved. Experience in public speaking and speaking in front of large groups. Experience using a CRM or other data management tool for student recruiting or sales. Professional experience developing PowerPoint presentations and other graphics. Proficient in utilizing online web conference platforms. Excellent writing and speaking skills. Must be enthusiastic about promoting social work higher education.
