The Marketing & Recruitment Specialist, College of Arts & Sciences, is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that drive undergraduate recruitment and elevate the visibility of the College’s academic programs. Reporting to University Communications, this role partners closely with Enrollment Management and academic departments to translate faculty strengths, student experiences, and outcomes into compelling, student-centered campaigns across digital channels. The position manages a recruitment-focused content strategy, including light video production and short-form storytelling, while using data and insights to optimize performance and support enrollment goals. Serving as the primary marketing partner for Arts & Sciences, this role ensures alignment with University brand standards while advancing the College’s distinct voice in a competitive higher education landscape.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies that drive undergraduate recruitment for the College of Arts & Sciences.
Partner directly with Enrollment Management to align messaging, campaigns, content, and events (Open Houses, Cardinal Preview Days, weekend and evening events, etc.) with key recruitment priorities, cycles, and enrollment goals.
Translate academic programs, faculty strengths, and student outcomes into compelling, student-centered marketing narratives.
Manage and execute a strategic content calendar focused on prospective student engagement across digital channels.
Develop targeted campaigns with University Communications (email, web, social) that move students from awareness to application and yield.
Collaborate with academic departments to identify differentiators, surface stories, and ensure consistent, high-quality program messaging.
Create and edit short-form video and visual content that brings the Arts & Sciences student experience to life (classroom, research, outcomes, campus life).
Analyze campaign and content performance using data and platform analytics; optimize strategies to improve engagement, conversion, and enrollment outcomes.
Monitor higher education trends and competitor activity to inform positioning, messaging, and content strategy.
Serve as the primary marketing partner for Arts & Sciences, ensuring alignment with central University brand standards while advancing college-specific recruitment goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years of experience in video production, social media management, and digital marketing.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrable skills and experience in the following areas:
- Proficiency in Video Production Software: Advanced knowledge of industry-standard video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software for creating and editing high-quality video content.
- Social Media Management Tools: Experience with social media scheduling and analytics platforms like Sprout Social and a strong understanding of platform-specific content strategies (Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
- Analytics and Data Interpretation: Proficient in using platform analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) to assess content performance, optimize strategies, and make data-driven decisions.
- AI Tools for Content Production: Experience with AI-powered tools for content enhancement, automation, and optimization.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with project management tools like Asana and Slack for coordinating content efforts with different departments and teams.
