Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist provides essential executional support for marketing efforts across Gateway Community & Technical College. This role supports the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns, creates and edits written and visual content, manages ticket-based marketing requests, and assists with website updates and maintenance. By handling high-volume, day-to-day marketing work, this position improves efficiency, consistency, and responsiveness while enabling the marketing team to focus on strategic initiatives that deepen institutional reach and impact.
Job Duties:
Assists with the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives across the college, including coordination of timelines, assets, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Supports the creation and editing of marketing materials such as digital graphics, flyers, signage, email assets, and presentations in alignment with brand standards.
Drafts, edits, and formats marketing copy for digital and print use, including emails, web content, internal communications, and promotional materials.
Assists with routine website updates, content edits, and page maintenance to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across college web properties.
Manages incoming marketing tickets and requests, tracks progress, coordinates with team members, and supports the timely resolution of requests.
Provides general marketing support, including organizing assets, maintaining project documentation, and assisting with reporting or data tracking as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field, or equivalent.
Ability to manage high-volume workloads with attention to detail and accuracy
Basic design and content editing skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to follow brand standards and established processes
Comfort working across multiple departments and priorities
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a community college setting
