Team & Position Description:
We are currently seeking a Master Data & BOM Specialist to administer our vast product master and bill of material structures used in creating industry-leading educational materials serving PreK – 12 students and teachers nationwide. In this role, you will work closely with our product and kit development experts in the creation and maintenance of critical product information. Working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders, you will ensure the timely and accurate entry of product structures and specifications into the company’s enterprise software system to ensure successful product launches in accordance with clients’ requirements. As the subject matter expert in all aspects of the product and BOM master data files, you will champion a consistent and rigorous data hygiene process that achieves a high-level of data integrity critical to successful outcomes in the daily product transactions throughout our ERP system.
What you’ll do day to day:
- Manage the end-to-end workflow for efficiently and accurately creating and maintaining product master and bill of material (BOM) master records through uploads and templates.
- Develop and manage a continuous data hygiene process necessary to proactively detect and fix data errors to mitigate downstream process failures.
- Working cross-functionally with sales and product development, manage the product master and BOM master details throughout a product’s life cycle, including version control and end-of-life product status.
- Create clear process documentation and SOP on the proper creation of product and BOM system records. Train applicable team members on new process implementation and system workflows.
- Improve data integrity and workflow reliability by establishing validation checks and best practices for product setup and maintenance.
- Collect, upload, and maintain product specifications and photos into ERP system for use throughout the organization.
- Work cross-functionally between kit developers, assembly engineers, and QA during the kit prototype, pack-out process to ensure the assembled product and packaging meet internal engineering standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate the collection of component samples required for client review, quality inspection, and product activity testing.
What we’re looking for (Key Performance Objectives):
- Within 60 days, learn and demonstrate proficiently in efficiently navigating Product Master and Bill of Material Masters in D365 including inquiries, data filters, and data download functions.
- Within 60 days, learn and demonstrate ability to enter product specifications and upload product photos.
- Within 90 days, demonstrate fluency in un-aided data entry and template upload process into D365.
- Within 6 months, learn and show ability to work within Monday.com project management software to retrieve tasks and update project statuses
- Within 6 months, learn and demonstrate comprehension of BOM template and entry workflow and ability to diagnose and fix data upload failures.
- By one year, identify at least two opportunities for process improvements in your area of responsibility and design a detailed improvement plan and obtain approval to implement said process improvements.
Requirements/Ideal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a similar role
- Intermediate to advanced skill in Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience working with project management and/or workflow software such as Monday.com, Trello, MS Planner, and Basecamp.
- Experience working with large datasets within an enterprise resource planning software (ERP) environment; work within Microsoft D365 a plus
- Experience documenting and administering process workflows
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite experience

Compensation Range: $21.63 - $28.85 per hour - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: years of experience, skill set, and location. Total compensation includes profit sharing bonus potential, 401k matching, and a variety of other benefits (details can be found here).
