The Learning Resources Center (LRC) is an integral part of the academic units that report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The LRC advances the mission of the college through a comprehensive, readily accessible collection of VPCC curriculum related informational materials, instructional technologies, and other academic support services that meet the educational needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Provides individual and small group instruction, assistance, and resources to currently enrolled students who encounter math-related problems in their VPCC courses. This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (Clery Act) and Responsible Employee (Title IX).

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of mathematics foundations (arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics) for associate degree and career/technical programs.
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, databases, and electronic communications; proficiency with graphing calculators.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills; analytic problem-solving skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and ability to vary teaching methods and resources according to student needs.
  • Demonstrated math teaching and/or tutorial experience at the high school or two-year college level.
  • Understanding of pedagogical principles in working with adult learners and underserved populations.

Work Schedule
