About the Role
Columbia University's School of Professional Studies is hiring a Media and Advertising Specialist to coordinate marketing strategies for a subset of SPS's programs, including specialized Master's, high school, and summer programs. Reporting to the Director, Media and Advertising, this role works with internal teams and a partner agency to ensure marketing tactics align with program goals.
What You'll Do
  • Assist the marketing team, program directors, and program operations directors in identifying target populations for each program
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to translate marketing goals into coordinated action plans that drive enrollments for specialized Master's, high school, and summer programs
  • Coordinate cross-functional marketing project plans, track deliverables and timelines, and adjust implementation details to support program goals
  • Assess the effectiveness and impact of marketing, advertising, and communications initiatives
  • Conduct research projects exploring advertising opportunities and identifying new targets and competitors in the market
  • Collaborate with marketing and recruitment teams to support events digitally
  • Monitor the effectiveness of program- and school-level strategies, analyzing and reporting on outcomes and recommended next steps
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Advanced degree in a relevant area preferred; experience in higher education preferred
  • Significant experience with the Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and analytics programs (Google Analytics)
  • Experience with response-driven campaigns or programs (print and online)
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
