The Military Relationship Manager plays a critical role in supporting military-connected students by promoting Kaplan and its university partners' educational offerings and providing personalized guidance throughout their academic journey. Leveraging your leadership experience and credibility within the military community, you will build strong relationships with Education Service Officers (ESOs), command influencers, and service members to advance Kaplan's mission of helping military students achieve their educational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development and comprehensive execution of all military engagement initiatives to maximize enrollment and educational success among active duty service members, veterans, and military families.
- Conduct senior military leader engagements to determine their needs and shortfalls which Kaplan may use to develop appropriate business solutions.
- Build strong relationships with Military Education Service Officers (ESOs) and Military influencers to advocate for Kaplan partner universities' educational programs and services (all branches).
- Provide unclassified information regarding service or branch, troop, MOS, or installation strength in effort to support strategic planning and product development opportunities (from POI/Lesson Plans).
- Conduct strategic meetings to connect KNA Executive Leadership with command level contacts (i.e. Army University, MACOM, or Installation, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and the Department of Defense)
- Utilize understanding of military culture, commands, organization and leadership to assist in the development of future opportunities for Kaplan and university partners.
- Direct and optimize the end-to-end military student acquisition lifecycle, from initial outreach to successful enrollment, while engaging potential military students, owning the continuous improvemen, and scaling of the SIF (Student Information Form) process to maximize conversion efficiency across all university partner programs.
- Develop, execute, and oversee a comprehensive strategic plan for high-impact organizational and military community engagement events, including job fairs, briefings, and conferences, leading to measurable growth in military brand visibility and qualified student leads.
- Serve as the institutional subject matter expert (SME) on all current and evolving military education policies, benefits, and federal/state regulations (e.g., DoD MOU, VA GI Bill).
- Coordinate identification of POI/LP market from service or branch, and approved MOS that have scalable education program opportunity
- Contribute to the development of best practices and continuous improvement of support services for military students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (Associate's degree with enrollment into GOK considered)
- 10 years working at a senior level of the military. This role is well-suited for a retired Senior NCO (E-8 to E-9) from the USAF or USMC who brings extensive experience leading, mentoring, and advocating for service members and their families.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to travel regularly to military installations and events nationally
- Familiarity with military benefits and a passion for supporting military students in their educational journeys.

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades. This position is Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $202,600. The specific compensation offered will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, and market data.
