Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Naval Instructional Designer I to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD). This remote role supports the design and development of instructor‑led, paper‑based, and online training solutions for Navy programs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in eLearning development, adult learning principles, and instructional design methodologies, working collaboratively in a distributed Agile environment.

Work Environment:
  • Fully remote role supporting Navy training system development teams across distributed locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of instructor‑led, paper‑based, and online training curricula under the guidance of a project manager or lead instructional designer.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, media specialists, programmers, quality assurance teams, subject matter experts, and program managers to deliver training products.
  • Participate in visual design, prototyping, usability testing, evaluation, and design innovation activities.
  • Apply ADDIE and Agile instructional design methodologies to course design and development efforts.
  • Review training products throughout analysis, design, and development to ensure proper flow and adherence to standards and style guidelines.
  • Design and develop SCORM‑compliant and Section 508‑compliant eLearning courseware.
  • Present complex instructional content clearly to distributed online audiences.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret / NACI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in eLearning design and development and adult learning theory.
  • Experience designing and developing interactive media at IMI Level 2 and basic Level 3.
  • Demonstrated experience applying the ADDIE model to complex course design and development.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality assurance, and editing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

Preferred:
  • Prior U.S. Navy or other U.S. military experience.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments using tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy AIM II Learning Object Module (LOM).

Compensation:
  • Pay range: $110,000 - $115,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
