Extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN systems and advanced skills with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project preferred.

Technical Expertise: Conduct in-depth analyses of performance, systems architecture, and data trends to support decision-making processes. Develop solutions that align with the university’s academic, administrative, and research needs. Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Assist in evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending strategic investments. Budgeting and Cost Control: Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to influence budget allocations for projects and upgrades. Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet institutional goals. Manage and monitor switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points across campus facilities. Security: Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect university data and systems against unauthorized access, malware, and cyber threats. User Support: Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students, resolving network-related issues efficiently. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, policies, procedures, and incident reports. Generate regular reports on network performance, security posture, and compliance status for internal and regulatory purposes. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience | Required: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is required. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in IT. Prefered: Four to six years of experience in the telecommunications/networking field, with extensive knowledge of industry concepts, practices, and procedures. Qualifications | Strong technical proficiency in a wide range of IT systems, software, and hardware. Demonstrated ability to be part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to develop and implement strategic IT plans that align with organizational goals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues. Experience in large-scale IT projects from conception to completion.
