Advertising/Posting Title | Northeast Kingdom Regional Coordinator
Posting Summary | Strengthen farmworker programming’s capacity to connect with and effectively implement education and health services, activities, and projects to farmworkers living in the northeast region of Vermont. Identify, enroll and support eligible farm workers in the Migrant Education Program (MEP). Facilitate educational services for enrolled students utilizing judgement to prioritize work. Select appropriate methods to respond to needs as they arise. Perform ongoing assessments of and assist in creating responses to farm health and safety education needs on farms with migrant workers through inter and intra-organizational initiatives. This position functions with minimal daily supervision, while working in collaboration with a statewide team of outreach professionals and program coordinators to fulfill programmatic objectives.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Undergraduate degree and one to two years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
Must be proficient in Spanish/English and demonstrate cultural humility.
Ability to effectively and independently plan, organize, and coordinate access to educational and support services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required with experience and capacity to work with diverse audiences.
Leadership skills and ability to use judgment in prioritizing and responding to competing work demands.
Proficient computer/multimedia skills essential.
Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule, which at times will include evenings and weekends.
Desirable Qualifications | Experience with rural farm/agricultural families and/or disadvantaged populations highly desirable. Familiarity with Vermont public school system, adult education, and health care access in Vermont desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range | $21.80/hour to $25.50/hour
Other Information | Position located in St. Johnsbury, VT Extension office
Position is at a .75FTE (28.13 hours per week).
Probationary period of 120 days is mandatory for external applicants.
Extensive travel throughout northeast region required (Essex, Orleans, and Caledonia counties)Must be able to work occasional odd hours and weekends.
Travel may be in inclement weather on backroads.
