Operations Administrator, Associate Full Description

Job Summary
As part of a team as an entry level professional contributor, and under the immediate direction of Director of Fellowships, this Associate will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations and activities of the Graduate Funding and Fellowships Team.  Operations and activities include:  management of fellowship awards, programming for current fellowship recipients and fellowship applicants, communication of policies and procedures for graduate staff employment and fellowships, and general office administration.  The Associate in this position will serve as a point of contact for inquiries about academic fellowships and graduate staff employment.  They will work with faculty and administrative staff to facilitate communication among multiple units within the University to interpret and convey University and federal policies and procedures for administering Purdue and external Fellowships and for graduate students who hold graduate staff appointments.  This Associate also will identify, define, gather, and manage data to create spreadsheets and reports that help to inform fellowship decision-making within OGSPS.  
This Associate will assist other members of the OGSPS Fellowship Team with coordinating and implementing events and fellowship award competitions, funding and fellowship information sessions, travel, and general administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One or more years of experience in an administration or operations support role
  • Experience with financial processes, accounting, and budget reconciliation
  • Banner, Wordpress, and Cognos experience
  • History of applying for fellowships and/or managing anything fellowship-or grant-related for an institution
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members of different experiences and backgrounds
  • Detail-oriented disposition with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze information, interpret data, and develop and implement solutions as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce high-quality work with frequent interruptions
