Job Summary
The College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University seeks a strategic and collaborative leader prepared to work closely with college leadership to shape and implement strategic priorities, manage complex research operations, and foster an environment that supports research excellence and faculty success.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Strategic planning and management of college research operations, including centers, academies, and major initiatives.
  • Partner with college and university leadership to advance research and faculty development.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in securing funding for scholars in the fields of humanities, social sciences, arts, and design. 
  • College liaison for research and compliance operations in the university; oversees college compliance.
  • Manage strategic communications to enhance visibility of research and faulty accomplishments.
 
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Eight years of experience in a management, administration, or related role.
 
Skills Needed:
  • Understanding of research policies and organization within higher education settings, including research-related compliance.
  • Knowledge of funding processes and organizations that support work in social sciences, humanities, arts and design.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; adaptive communicator with the ability to translate ideas to multiple audiences.
  • Strong analytic and planning skills; ability to translate high level goals into implementation plans and day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to compile, integrate, transform, and analyze data using multiple tools
  • Highly organized leader, able to manage multiple teams and priorities to meet deadlines and outcome goals. 
  • Ability to locate and coordinate resources from multiple sources to advance complex projects and strategic partnerships.
 
What is Helpful:
  • Master’s degree.
