Operations Manager Full Description

Job Summary
Serve as an entry-level professional staff member supporting the daily operations of the Division of Financial Aid’s (DFA) Stewart Office. In this role, you will build strong working relationships with departments across campus and represent DFA with professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion.

The position requires strong organizational and project management skills to effectively coordinate and execute multiple ongoing projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information is needed . You will assist with all aspects of aid processing for Purdue, private, and federal loans and provide front desk financial aid counseling, as needed, to prospective and current students and their families to support timely, student-focused service.
As a member of the Operations Manager team, and under the guidance of the Associate Director, you will help coordinate staff meetings, trainings, travel, and related logistics for the Division of Financial Aid. This person will also contribute to the supervision and support of student employees, contributing to a collaborative, service oriented environment.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience that includes project oversight, operations of administrative/academic units, office management, or related.
  • Equivalent level of education and experience will be considered.
 
Skills Needed:
  • Excellent office management and written/verbal communication skills necessary.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, prioritize workload and make independent decisions.
  • Skills in organization and attention to detail with the capacity to see the big picture are essential.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word.  
 
What is helpful :
  • Financial aid experience preferred.
