| Job Summary | The Simulation Operations Manager/Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Center for Interprofessional Simulation-Based Experiential Learning (CISBEL). This position is responsible for overseeing administrative, financial, and operational functions that support simulation-based education, research, and interprofessional training programs across the University of Utah and affiliated health system partners. Work in close collaboration with CISBEL leadership, faculty, institutional leaders, and stakeholders to ensure efficient program delivery, optimize resource utilization, and support the growth and innovation of simulation-based initiatives. This role serves as a key liaison between CISBEL and its customers, ensuring high-quality service, operational excellence, and alignment with institutional priorities. | Responsibilities | • Oversee daily operations of CISBEL programs, including scheduling, logistics, facility utilization, and program coordination across multiple simulation environments • Develops, implements, and evaluates policies, procedures, and workflows to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and scalability • Collaborates with leadership to support strategic planning, program development, and expansion of simulation-based education initiatives • Manages financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, cost-recovery models, and support of grant-funded activities • Supervises and develops staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and professional development • Monitors program effectiveness through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and quality improvement initiatives; implement process improvements as needed • Serves as a liaison between CISBEL and internal/external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction • Promotes CISBEL programs and services to institutional and external partners; supports outreach and engagement efforts • Participate in institutional committees and contributes to the development of administrative plans, policies, and service standards • Ensure compliance with university policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations |
| Minimum Qualifications |
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Operations Program Manager, IV: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Operations Program Manager, V: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience.
Operations Program Manager, VI: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience. |
