Job Description 
Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. It serves students and the community at its two campuses, in Chester and Midlothian; online; and in locations throughout its service area. Brightpoint invites applications for the part-time Accessibility Coordinator. The part-time Accessibility Coordinator will work to ensure online educational materials and learning environments are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. This involves reviewing the accessibility compliance of online course content, providing recommendations for improving course accessibility, and offering training and support to faculty and staff. This is a grant/restricted position with a limit of 670 hours maximum and will end June 30, 2026.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Successful applicants will have experience with the following educational technologies: Canvas LMS, Google applications, MS Office applications, Adobe and UDOIT (preferred). Applicants will be familiar with WCAG accessibility standards and have experience remediating online courses and course materials to meet accessibility requirements. They will have experience developing and/or delivering training on universal design and/or accessibility to an audience of educators. They will have demonstrated success working with diverse teams on institution-wide initiatives, preferably in higher education
Additional Considerations  | Master’s degree in a related field, such as education or instructional design. Prior experience in teaching, instructional design, or accessibility compliance, background working with college faculty.
