Job Description

The Middle School Outreach Coordinator assists middle school students with reaching their educational and career goals by (a) providing curriculum-approved workshops in school and virtually; and (b) developing and assisting in implementing out-of-school activities that enhance their understanding of different professional fields. In addition, the position includes recruiting participants for project services and maintaining participant files on services provided.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or higher education;
Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to work with low-income potential first-generation college students;
Professional/personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to the ones confronting project participants;
Professional experience in pre-college programs or similar programs;
Knowledge and/or advocacy experience with disadvantaged communities; and
Able to work independently with target school contacts and community.
