General Information:
JMU’s School of Professional & Continuing Education (SPCE) is seeking a Part-Time Program Support Assistant. SPCE collaborates with individuals, business, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the coordination of professional (non-credit) programs by fulfilling administrative functions as assigned.

Support program coordinator in administrative functions of professional development courses, including shipping and printing of course materials, creating Zoom/Teams links for courses, updating schedules, and managing course creation/duplication in LMS.

Correspond with professional development students and instructors for enrollment, course support, and follow-up/feedback.

Keep an accurate inventory of resources available (including textbooks, promotional materials, etc.).
Promote instructional best practices by, for instance: sitting in on professional development courses/workshop to provide course support and auditing course materials to ensure up-to-date content.

Create efficiency for professional development team by using project management technologies (such as Asana) and updating records.

Provide additional administrative and technical support for non-credit professional development programs as needed.
 
Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills, including customer technical support
• Experience with MS Office software
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage projects and keep detailed records
• Strong critical thinking skills

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
