JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Lion Health Lab at Penn State within the Department of Kinesiology, College of Health and Human Development, and directed by Dr. Janette Watkins, is seeking a part-time Support, Curriculum Design Specialist to support curriculum design for a new family-centered CrossFit-based health program. The position focuses on developing coaching manuals, lesson plans, and implementation protocols that integrate fitness education and family engagement. This is a remote role with flexible scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and refine coaching manuals, lesson plans, and implementation protocols for a family-focused CrossFit-based intervention.
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator and research team to ensure materials align with study goals and behavior change frameworks.
  • Translate scientific concepts into practical, developmentally appropriate content for coaches, children, and parents.
  • Provide input on fidelity tracking tools, training checklists, and implementation guides.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings to align on study logistics, curriculum testing, and feedback integration.

Minimum Qualifications
  • CrossFit Level 3 (CF-L3) or higher certification.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching children, mothers, or families within a CrossFit affiliate setting.
  • Strong background in program design, lesson planning, and instructional delivery a CrossFit affiliate

Preferred Qualifications
  • CrossFit Kids certification
