Washtenaw Community College is seeking qualified instructors to teach non-credit courses in Programming, with a focus on Python, AWS, and foundational AI technologies. These courses are designed to prepare learners for emerging opportunities in tech and AI-related careers. Instructors will provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences in either in-person or virtual formats. Opportunities are offered on a per-course basis.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and practical instruction in Python programming, AWS cloud services, and introductory AI concepts. Create or adapt instructional content based on program objectives and learner needs. Teach in-person and/or virtually in a high-quality, interactive manner. Collaborate with stakeholders including program staff, students, and community/industry partners. Attend orientation and complete required compliance training. Maintain timely communication with learners and staff. Propose new course offerings annually aligned with tech industry trends. Stay current in field of expertise and contribute to continuous course improvement. Assist with course marketing and outreach efforts. Submit required materials such as syllabi, attendance, and evaluations on time. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: |
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:·
Demonstrated expertise in Python, AWS, and/or AI-related technologies.· Experience teaching or training adult learners, especially in a professional or workforce setting.· Ability to design and deliver technical content in an accessible, engaging format.· Comfortable using virtual platforms for teaching (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).Available to teach evenings and/or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications: |
Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified, Google AI, CompTIA) Industry experience applying programming or AI in real-world projects Experience working with non-traditional or underserved learners
