The Role
We are seeking experienced and committed tutors to provide individualized academic support to students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan. Tutors will work closely with students and families to reinforce classroom learning, build essential skills, and support each student's unique goals. This role requires adaptability, effective instructional practice, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

What You Will Do
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to students with IEPs or 504 Plans.
  • Adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Reinforce core academic subjects while supporting study skills, organization, and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and specialists to align support.
  • Track and communicate student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.

What We Are Looking For
  • Required: Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certification.
  • Preferred: Degree in Education, Special Education endorsement, Reading Specialist Certification, and/or training in multisensory instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell).
  • Experience supporting the learning goals of children or adolescents with disabilities.

Schedule & Compensation

Work Location
  • Primarily in-person in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs (homes, centers, or libraries).
  • Occasional virtual tutoring may be assigned.
