Position Description
Job Title: Parts Learning & Development Specialist
Reports To: Parts Learning and Development Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Shared Services Office, Coppell, TX
Summary:
The Parts Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the training and development of parts employees across multiple teams. This role focuses on helping team members strengthen their understanding of commercial HVAC systems, quoting processes, tools, and professional skills needed for success in parts sales and operations.
Working as part of the Learning & Development team, the specialist delivers onboarding programs, supports employee development efforts, collaborates with managers to identify training needs, and develops instructional materials that drive team growth and performance. They bring HVAC knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to create clear, effective learning resources using modern training tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver training programs that support the growth and performance of parts team members across operating companies.
- Lead and support onboarding by tracking new hire progress, providing foundational training, and reinforcing job readiness.
- Deliver both in-person and virtual training sessions on HVAC parts, quoting, systems use, and other professional development topics.
- Develop instructional materials such as SOPs, job aids, visual guides, presentations, video scripts, and case-based learning tools.
- Create engaging and accessible training content using a variety of digital tools and platforms.
- Quickly learn and effectively apply various software systems used in parts operations and training delivery.
- Collaborate with the L&D Team to conduct needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and performance feedback.
- Work with managers and leaders to identify training gaps and implement learning plans that align with team and business goals.
- Validate technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current HVAC systems and parts knowledge.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing training related to tools, system updates, or process changes.
- Provide one-on-one coaching or group training to reinforce skills, answer questions, and support development goals.
- Monitor learner progress and training impact by collecting feedback, tracking performance trends, and supporting post-training evaluations.
- Coordinate with platform administrators or training operations staff to ensure learning materials are properly published and maintained in the LMS.
- Stay current with HVAC industry changes, internal processes, and tools to ensure training remains relevant and effective.
- Regular, consistent and necessary to meet the needs of the business
- Assists the leadership of the parts team and other team members with various research projects and/or special projects
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education/Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC equipment and/or parts.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and parts, including terminology and typical applications.
- Experience in HVAC parts sales, support, or operations, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Associate’s degree is a plus.
- Experience in a Learning Management System is a plus.
- Familiarity in tools such as Articulate, Canva, and/or Synthesia is a plus.
- Proven ability to learn and work across a variety of software tools used in sales, operations, and training environments.
- Experience supporting or delivering training in a professional or technical setting is preferred.
- A strong interest in coaching others, supporting learning, and improving team performance through education.
- Motivated to grow into the role and expand knowledge in both HVAC systems and adult learning practices.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

The workplace is in a corporate office environment and the temperature in the work environment is usually moderate. The position’s primary office is the Shared Services, Coppell, TX office; however, telework or work at home, on the road, or in a satellite location for portions of the workweek may occur, depending upon project needs and requirements in coordination with your direct supervisor and/or most senior leader of your department.
