PFW - Business Manager Full Description

Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We seek a full-time, on-site Business Manager in our Administrative Business Services department. This position will manage the financial affairs and coordinate business services for the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS). The annual salary for this position is $57,004.08.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Monitors accounting documents and entries to provide information for analysis, ensure financial integrity and assure appropriate audit trails. Audits financial reports and initiates correcting entries as necessary.
  • Makes recommendations to Executive Director concerning systems, policies and procedures for handling fiscal documents and routinely, or as requested, provides financial reports on the various accounts.
  • Assists in preparation of research and/or grant proposals and coordinates processing, contract administration and post award reporting.
  • Conduct audits.
  • Assists with development and preparation of department and program budgets.
  • Interprets, communicates and implements established university fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare special reports and analysis as requested by the Executive Director
  • Serves as resource/liaison to faculty and staff in matters related to financial and human resources management functions performed in DCS' various program offices.
  • Supervises account clerk.

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field.
  • Two years in accounting, budgeting, analyzing financial results, and developing financial projections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong commitment to customer service.
  • Must have effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP or an ERP system preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
