Job Description  | The Departments of Physics and Mathematics at Syracuse University invite applications to fill multiple faculty positions in the field of quantum information science, broadly defined. Faculty will join the newly established Institute for Quantum and Information Sciences, an interdisciplinary effort which spans multiple departments in the College of Arts and Sciences and in the College of Engineering.

The hiring priority in Physics includes all fields of experimental research related to quantum and information science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, research in: quantum optics and photonics; atomic, molecular, and optical physics; and quantum sensing and networking. The hiring priority in Mathematics includes all fields of theoretical research related to the mathematics of quantum science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, research in: the mathematics of quantum field theory and gravitation at the intersection with quantum science; the analysis of quantum algorithms, codes and entanglement structures; and related topics in algebraic and differential geometry, topology, and representation theory.
