Posting Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support the University of Vermont in advancing the institution’s mission of global impact, research, community engagement, and student success. This position involves providing quality student service and advising with regards to undergraduate research opportunities, including professional development activities leading up to and during annual research events. Lead in the planning, organization, promotion, and other activities surrounding the development and execution of the University of Vermont annual Student Research Conference/Research Week. Coordinate resources & programming and support accessibility to other advising and research initiatives in the Patrick Leahy Honors College (PLHC) and beyond.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | · Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to three years experience in undergraduate research;· Excellent writing and editing abilities;· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Desirable Qualifications
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and foster a culture of continuous improvement;
· Experience in data analysis, report generation, and using technology to support advising and student success initiatives;
· Show a commitment to advising practices and student engagement efforts that promote growth and development in students.
· Direct experience with advising students on research and fellowships opportunities;
· Familiarity with social media platforms, graphic design software, and Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability and interest in learning applicant tracking systems and other application software.
Anticipated Pay Range | $52,000 to $55,000
Other Information | Position may supervise student workers.
Special Conditions
Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
