GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear is seeking a PMO Training & Development Leader who will be a key member of the Advanced Nuclear PMO team responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive training and development program for Project Specialists, Project Managers, and Project Directors across the Advanced Nuclear Projects organization. This role ensures all project personnel receive effective onboarding, achieve and maintain proficiency in project management best practices, nuclear-specific standards, regulatory requirements, and company processes. The PMO Training & Development Leader drives a culture of operational excellence, safety, and compliance in one of the most highly regulated and technically demanding industries. The ideal candidate is an experienced project management professional with a strong knowledge of nuclear project delivery and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical training that improves project performance and reduces risk.

Job Description


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a structured onboarding program for new project personnel, ensuring rapid ramp-up on processes, tools, governance, safety protocols, and nuclear quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling curriculum of mandatory and elective training covering PMI/PMBOK principles tailored to nuclear projects, risk management, earned value management, scheduling, stakeholder management, regulatory interfaces, change control, and lessons learned for advanced nuclear projects.
  • Conduct regular skills gap analyses, surveys, and training performance reviews in collaboration with PMO leadership, project teams, and functional partners to identify training needs.
  • Create or curate high quality training materials, including e-learning modules, instructor led sessions, workshops, simulations, case studies (drawing from real nuclear projects) and assessments. Partner with subject matter experts i engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory affairs.
  • Implement knowledge assessments, certifications, and ongoing competency tracking to verify and document all project personnel maintain required proficiency levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Education, or a related technical field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Project Leadership).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, with significant exposure to complex, highly regulated projects (nuclear, power generation, aerospace, or defense preferred).
  • Knowledge of Nuclear regulations are highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear industry standards, quality assurance programs, and regulatory requirements.

The preferred work locations is the Wilmington, NC Headquarters OR Atlanta, GA but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.

 For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $132,200.00 and $220,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
