General Summary: The Principal Trainer I reports to the Epic Systems Development Manager and is responsible for leading projects of all levels of complexity and applies advanced understanding of the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), adult learning theory, and instructional design principles to project related work.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist with conducting organizational and entity-based training needs assessments with assistance from mentor. Learn to design and develop training using a variety of modalities depending on the needs of the user.
2. Reviews data from business owners and application teams regarding potential new processes, procedures, systems, etc., to determine performance gaps and recommend training solutions. Learns to manage curriculum and review existing content to learn JH workflows, ensure courses are current, effective, and meet business needs
3. Learns the ISD model to design and develop complex and engaging blended or multi-media learning activities for customer training that align with corporate values and desired competencies to support identified business needs.
4. Develops a basic understanding of task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans. 
5. Develop understanding of project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet clearly defined expectations.
6. Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately. 
7. Review and develop an understanding of project plans and their direct role in ensuring success of the project.
8. Partners with mentor or supervisor to identify and coordinate all communication efforts to the appropriate individuals.
9. Build working relationships with instructional designers, analysts, management, subject matter experts, other training staff, and end users.
10. Collaborate with mentor or supervisor to identify innovative learning solutions that meet user-needs (instructor-led, synchronous online, on demand web-based training, and blended learning).
11. Oversees educationally sound training content based on clinical and non-clinical workflows, processes, and terminology alongside a mentor.
12. Interfaces with instructional designers and e-learning developers to design and test e-learning and blended learning with guidance from a designated team member.
13. Reviews program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness to make recommendations for program optimization.
14. Teaches 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in adult education/training in the healthcare industry preferred
Knowledge of current healthcare environment preferred
End user training experience in EPIC or other clinical/business operations information system preferred
Experience in developing educational materials related to business and/or clinical workflows related to healthcare preferred
Ability to communicate complex technical information
Experience using Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Publisher and Project preferred
A.
Education:
  • Baccalaureate in a clinical discipline required. Current license as a clinical healthcare professional. Professional experience/certification(s) beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years' experience-for-one year education basis.
B.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years' experience in a health care environment. 1 years' experience using clinical information systems in a health care environment preferred. Additional experience in adult education/training is preferred.
C.
Certifications:
  • Required to complete and pass certification and credentialing in an assigned EPIC application within 120 days of employment start date for role.

Salary Range: Minimum 30.53/hour - Maximum 53.44/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
