Job Description:
Pay Rate: $24.00-$28.50 per hour; DOE
Under the supervision of the Print Lab leadership team,fulfill day-to-day operations related to the front-end operations of the Print and Imaging Lab, including customer service, estimating, project management, simple prepress, billing, and assisting with other functions as needed. Assist in overseeing a team of student workers who are integral to providing friendly, prompt, and high-quality service.
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform job duties.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds.
- Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Communicate to perform essential functions.
- May need to work weekends, weeknights, and holidays.
Essential Duties:
- Overseeing and distributing the incoming flow of emails to the Print and Imaging Lab, phone calls, walk-in clients, and quote requests.
- Creating estimates for new projects and inputting orders into production. This will include working with outside vendors for finishing and other external bids for projects, working with the department's budgets,suggesting options that fit their project needs and creating project plans and timelines between the customer and the production team.
- Reviewing incoming files with the production team. Understands Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and setting up simple files for print production as needed, while understanding the importance of brand standards and assisting clients with adhering to the ASU brand standards.
- Following up with production schedule to ensure that jobs are on track to meet deadlines and coordinating with outside vendors.
- Assisting with handling simple accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as sending invoices, processing payments, and documenting/paying outstanding bills.
- Assisting with various production, bindery, and finishing tasks when necessary.
Desired Qualifications:
- Evidence of a willingness to shift between different responsibilities depending on the current needs of production.
- Ability to learn multiple areas of operation within the Print and Imaging Lab and contribute as a team player.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in-person.
- Skill in coordinating and overseeing work of subordinate personnel.
- Evidence of effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Experience in using organizational skills.
