SUMMARY: The Senior Academic Manager oversees the Academic Playbook and training for a portfolio of schools and owns identified programs. This role collaborates with the General Manager, Private Pay Business to strengthen instruction and programmatic performance of each school.

Academic Management Duties:
- Collaborates with school leaders in the development of an effective Academic Playbook, focusing on the quality of Playbook component submissions, and monitors implementation
- Focuses on advancing academic priorities of private schools and serves as designee for Business Manager
- Mentors and develops school-based Academic Administrators
- Maintains cross-state, administrator knowledge; gaining versatile expertise, with the ability to step in on an interim basis to support any school in the capacity of an Academic Administrative / Executive Director
- Articulates, monitors, and delivers academic results, working collaboratively across portfolios to optimize work product contribution and efficiencies
- Develops and coordinates new teacher onboarding materials, training, and support to supplement school-based onboarding programs, and supports all functions of academic priority and outcome within a portfolio
- Develops and provides required training and professional development aligned with Playbook components; prioritizing comprehensive training and school specific needs
- Deploys and monitors training within the assigned portfolio
- Builds capacity of teachers and school leaders to effectively execute initiatives and action plans, through the design and implementation of effective professional develop plans and activities
- Manages the launching of new schools; acting as liaison between school, regional and corporate staff; potentially acting in an interim capacity
School Leadership Duties:
- Serve as the school’s instructional leader and ensures data is being used to drive all academic decisions;
- Effectively recruits, hires, and retains highly qualified staff; develops effective staff members through an ongoing evaluation process and professional development;
- Create and foster a positive school culture by involving school staff, community leaders, students and parents;
- Ensure teaching staff utilizes the K12 curriculum, effective assessments, and targeted instruction to meet the individual needs of each student;
- Exhibit ownership in improving student outcomes, overall school academic performance, and leading academic teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 3-5 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in business, education or related field of study
- Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrable leadership, organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adapts to change and is open to new ideas
- Active listener and values opinions
- Willingly takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure and adjusts plans to meet changing needs
- MS365 proficiency
- Ability to travel 20% of the time; could surge at the beginning of the school year
- Ability to clear required background check
Certificates and Licenses: State License as a School Administrator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an on-line / virtual educator

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be $82,873.60-$179,350.80. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
