Product Manager
Job Overview:
As a Product Manager, you will run multiple product areas and influence the overall product suite. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with an excellent technical foundation who can bridge the gap between the business and engineering teams. You’ll work cross-functionally with the business,, customer support, design, engineering, marketing, and content to guide products from conception to launch. Your work will directly impact the experiences of parents and students, helping shape the future of education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the product roadmap in collaboration with the Director, ensuring prioritization aligns with business goals and market demands.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to validate product ideas and inform strategic direction.
- Manage product planning across multiple product lines, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve product offerings.
- Create pricing and packaging strategies for product offerings.
- Balance potential projects into a prioritized roadmap based on market needs and available resources.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with fellow product team members to ensure a cohesive product vision and roadmap.
- Partner with Product Owner to prioritize development activities and continuously deliver customer value.
- Work closely with engineering to communicate feature sets and understand technical tradeoffs.
- Coordinate with Product Marketing to execute go-to-market strategies and retention campaigns.
- Provide product demos and updates to internal stakeholders across departments.
- Translate customer needs and business targets into detailed business requirements/briefs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct user research, focus groups, and post-release analysis to inform product outcomes.
- Monitor product usage and gather feedback from support teams and educators.
- Report on the success of product updates versus expectations and baseline performance.
- Use tools like Jira, Confluence, Trello, and analytics dashboards to manage product progress.
- Leverage spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis and modeling.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of product management experience in software and technology products
- Proven experience working closely with engineering teams and practicing Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Product Management Certification or MBA is a plus
- Knowledge of the EdTech industry is a plus
- Exceptional data and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, especially when conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience leading through influence and persuasion
- Outcome-focused with a passion for delivering customer value
