Associate Product Manager, Data & Decision Support
The Associate Product Manager, Data & Decision Support supports the discovery, development, and delivery of internal data and system capabilities that enable stakeholders across the organization to make more informed, efficient, and impactful decisions.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Analytics, and business stakeholders, this role helps identify problem areas, gather and synthesize inputs, and contribute to the definition of product solutions. The Associate Product Manager assists in translating business needs and decision workflows into clear, actionable requirements that support the delivery of scalable and reliable data capabilities.

Operating within a complex and evolving data ecosystem, this role contributes to roadmap development, prioritization, and execution while building foundational product management skills. This includes developing strengths in stakeholder collaboration, systems thinking, and outcome-driven delivery, with increasing responsibility over time. This role does not have managerial responsibilities.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support discovery efforts to identify problems related to data, reporting, and decision-making workflows across internal stakeholder groups.
  • Gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs (e.g., stakeholder feedback, system data, operational metrics) to help inform product opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying patterns, pain points, and areas of opportunity across systems and workflows.
  • Contribute insights to support prioritization and roadmap discussions.
    Support validation of potential solutions through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
  • Support backlog management for internal data and system initiatives, ensuring work items are clearly documented, organized, and up to date.
  • Gather and synthesize inputs required for prioritization, including business value, stakeholder needs, effort, dependencies, and risks.
  • Help ensure backlog items are well-defined with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
  • Support prioritization processes by preparing materials, surfacing trade-offs, and maintaining visibility into competing requests.
  • Track and communicate changes in priorities, helping maintain alignment across stakeholders and reduce confusion or rework.
  • Support execution of product initiatives in partnership with Engineering, Data, Analytics, and Business Systems teams.
  • Assist in translating business needs into user stories, workflows, and requirements documentation.
  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies across initiatives, ensuring work stays aligned and on track.
  • Proactively surface blockers, gaps, or risks, and escalate as needed to support timely resolution.
  • Support testing, validation, and rollout of new capabilities to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • 1–3 years of experience in a product, operations, analytics, or related role involving cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to support execution of cross-functional initiatives, managing multiple workstreams and deadlines effectively.
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to structure and manage complex information.
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and clearly communicate insights from qualitative and quantitative inputs.
  • Comfort working with data to inform decisions (e.g., experience with analytics tools, basic SQL, or similar).
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and incorporate diverse inputs into problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability or interest in understanding how systems, data, and workflows connect across an organization.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, with a willingness to take initiative and learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for different audiences.
  • Experience in applying AI, automation, or advanced analytics to improve workflows and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on internal-facing products, data platforms, or enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses, data pipelines, or modern analytics tooling (e.g., BI tools, semantic layers).
  • Working knowledge of SQL or experience querying and validating data.
  • Experience applying data, analytics, or automation to improve business processes or decision-making.
  • Experience working within CRM, marketing, financial, or operational systems ecosystems.
  • Experience in education, EdTech, publishing, or other multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other product development methodologies.
  • Product Management Certification.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000/year.

This role is directly accountable for improving the speed, quality, and consistency of decision-making by ensuring data and system capabilities are aligned to critical business workflows and measurable outcomes.  In a rapidly developing function, this role contributes to establishing effective product management practices, including intake, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination, while owning the successful delivery of defined initiatives or product areas.   • Evaluate incoming requests and opportunities based on business value, feasibility, dependencies, and alignment to organizational priorities.
  • Ensure backlog items are clearly defined with requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.
  • Make prioritization recommendations and surface trade-offs, aligning with the Group Manager on higher-impact or cross-functional decisions.
  • Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and roadmap updates for assigned initiatives or product areas to ensure transparency and alignment. 

Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 years’ experience designing and building new products or internal systems, and enhancing existing capabilities.
  • 2 years’ product management or related experience (e.g., business analysis, data product, systems product).
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to product strategy and independently drive execution from discovery through delivery.
  • Experience working with data systems, analytics platforms, or internal tools, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Comfort collaborating closely with engineering and data teams, including scoping, estimation, testing, and validation.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or advanced analytics to improve workflows, decision-making, or operational efficiency.
  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand dependencies across tools, data pipelines, and workflows.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous or evolving environments, helping define processes such as intake, prioritization, or product operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:       
Requires periods of close concentration; must be able to multi-task; must be able to travel occasionally; work overtime - more than 40 hours a week – regularly, as needed.     

The Product Manager - Data & Decision Support and Associate Product Manager- Data & Decision Support are both eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.     
This position will be filled at the level of Associate Product Manager- Data & Decision Support, or Product Manager - Data & Decision Support depending on experience.
