Position Summary
ETS is the state testing contractor for the California Assessment System which includes the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC). The Product Operations Associate directly contributes to product success. The position will have responsibility for a variety of tasks supporting cycles of internal and client testing (User Acceptance Testing and Operational Trials) prior to systems releases each year. This role works with our operations team in support of the ongoing technology services required to administer the CAASPP and ELPAC programs. Responsibilities include documenting requirements and specifications; assisting with the activities associated with user acceptance testing and operational testing; coordinating/facilitating stakeholder meetings end-to-end; managing client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships; understanding operational processes and facilitating Operations calls; participating in technical discussions; taking meeting notes; and other general tasks. Quick thinking, the ability to absorb knowledge quickly, and organizational skills are valued skillsets for this position. An in-depth understanding of the contractual scope of work, and a proactive mindset to execute against requirements is critical.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Product Management & Delivery?
- Supports execution against the product work plan objectives for assigned product
- Works with FCEs (Functional Centers of Excellence) to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Supports identification of product delivery improvement areas
- Communicates and collaborates with FCEs / vendors / partners clearly and effectively
Contract/SLA Fulfillment?
- Provides status updates on day-to-day operations
- Executes against SLA’s and KPI’s under the guidance of Product Operations Manager
Financial Management
- Collects data to help track all product-related expenditures against budget
- Supports attainment of surplus targets by controlling expenses
- Adheres to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function
Experience and Skills
Required Skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to provide status updates on day-to-day operations; deep understanding of SLA’s and KPI’s
- Ability to understand client/vendor’s needs and ensure that ETS is meeting those expectations
- Demonstrated understanding of product operational needs
- Escalates effectively when faced with uncertainty and / or lack of data by seeking the data necessary to guide decision-making
- Basic proficiency in Jira Ability to work effectively on a team that has members who are co-located and work at other sites
- Excellent written and verbal reasoning and communication skills
- Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with the clients, internal ETS teams, and vendors, while effectively and appropriately representing ETS
- Ability to gather information and present to leadership to help inform decisions that need to be made, especially when tracking down operational issues
- Proven experience to successfully follow through on all client issues Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
- Familiar with software development/IT processes at a high level
- Ideally has interest or experience in data reporting or business intelligence
- Well organized; attention to detail; analytical and inquisitive nature (i.e. problem solver)
- Preferably located in the Sacramento, California area for occasional in-person collaboration with Sacramento-based ETS staff and client (CDE) staff.
Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Relevant Years of Experience Required
- 2+ years of experience in administrative or project management support
The expected base compensation for this role is $70,000 + benefits. This compensation will depend on the successful candidate's profile
