McGraw Hill Higher Education is seeking a Product Owner - AI to join its Platform & Product Delivery team. Experience working with AI in product management or product development is required.

How can you make an impact?
As the Product Owner - AI, you will work closely with users, technology product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to conduct research, devise innovative ideas, requirements and roadmaps, work with the go-to-market (GTM) teams to successfully launch new platform builds and customer experiences, measure their in-field performance against KPIs, and implement improvement strategies and tactics. You will be responsible for partnering with your director to determine what the product team builds, the investment needed, and the KPIs tied to usage and quality of user experience. The Product Owner is responsible and accountable for the success of the platform build delivered to market.

The Product Owner - AI is a champion of our platform vision and a catalyst of new opportunities balancing continued platform improvements with innovation. This role is an opportunity to shape the future direction of McGraw Hill’s platform strategy and delivery for the higher education market.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States and requires 10 - 20 percent travel throughout the year

What you will be doing:
  • Drive AI strategy and innovation by defining product vision, building investment business cases, and creating roadmaps that maximize customer value and revenue opportunities.
  • Lead market and user research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends, ensuring platform capabilities are differentiated and impactful.
  • Oversee AI technology partnerships by evaluating, selecting, and managing vendors to align with platform strategy, integration needs, cost optimization, and ethical AI principles.
  • Guide technical implementation of AI features such as adaptive learning, personalization, and recommendations while collaborating with data science teams to refine models and enhance outcomes.
  • Ensure ethical and measurable AI adoption by setting success metrics (e.g., model performance, ROI, user adoption), monitoring real-world performance, and safeguarding fairness, transparency, and privacy.
  • Align and influence cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Data Science, Product, Design, GTM) to deliver AI-driven experiences and support comprehensive go-to-market execution.

What you can bring to this role:
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years' experience in product management or related field with a focus on AI driven products and features.
  • Working knowledge of LLM frameworks and tools such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex, and understanding of their application in educational contexts.
  • Understanding of NLP, machine learning, and deep learning principles.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI development.

The pay range for this position is between $135,000-$145,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
