Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a project pay position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions.

Unit Position Summary
The Asian Studies Center within International Studies and Programs is hiring for a short-term research scholar to carry out a research project on the use of emerging technologies in Chinese language teaching in US postsecondary institutions. The aim of the project is to publish a book on the topic. As part of the project, the Research Scholar will be required to give a public lecture on the above topic.

Primary Accountabilities/Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze survey and interview data, writing individual chapters (33%)
Complete data analysis, writing individual chapters (33%)
Finishing all chapters (17.5%)
Proof reading and finalizing the first draft of the book (16.5%)
Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction.
At least one undergraduate or graduate degree focusing on Chinese language.
10 years of experience working the field of Chinese language instruction in a US higher education setting using emerging technologies.
Track record of publication and/or instruction in US higher education institutions in the field of Chinese language and linguistics.
