The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Professional Development & Learning Specialist to join our Human Resources team at System Office. The Professional Development & Learning Specialist will be responsible forsupporting and cultivating apositiveculture that encourages ongoing learning and professional development and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation across teams with an aim to attract, engage, and develop a diverse staff. As the Professional Development & Learning Specialist, you will facilitate and coordinate professional learning and development opportunities across CCCS by identifying, leveraging, and aligning subject matter expertise systemwide to deliver relevant, high-quality, and impactful professional development. This role plans, develops, and evaluates learning initiatives delivered through the CCCS systemwide learning management platform and establishes a coordinated approach to facilitation that maximizes internal talent, expands access to high-quality training, ensures quality and consistency, and promotes alignment across the system.
Duties include:
- Design, develop, deliver, and pilot learning and development solutions to support CCCS objectives and goals using a variety of delivery systems including traditional and non-traditional delivery modes.
- Support and collaborate with HR personnel and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in developing training that advances HR initiatives and system-wide programs and processes. Use applicable adult learning and organizational behavior theories and models to assess, design, develop, and implement presentations and training materials that are clear, user friendly, professional, and accommodate various adult learning styles.
- Plan, develop, and provide learning and development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- In collaboration with the HR Operations Manager and system stakeholders, design, implement, revise, coordinate the facilitation of, and facilitate leadership programs for CCCS that develop current and emerging leaders, incorporate evidence-based research and trends, align with CCCS succession planning and competency tools, and support the goals of the strategic plan.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Learning Management System (LMS), providing guidance on system functionality and best practices.
- Continually evaluate and strengthen the System Office learning and development strategy for CCCS by conducting ongoing needs assessments to identify opportunities to create, modify, or enhance programs. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to monitor trends and inform decision-making.
- Support and, where appropriate, share responsibility for scheduling and coordinating of events, programs, and activities including establishing dates, times, logistics, and locations.
- Serve as an advisor and coordinator for the systemwide Professional Development Working Group, facilitating collaboration, alignment, and shared practices across colleges and the System Office.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organization Development, Adult Education, or related. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted with an associate’s and two additional years of experience, or four years of relevant professional experience, with experience evaluated on a year-for-year basis.
- An additional two years of professional experience in teaching, organizational development, training, or adult education that includes experience designing, developing, and/or delivering a variety of learning and development activities.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and/or technology applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, Articulate 360, on-demand training platforms, or similar tools) to support the design, development, delivery, evaluation, and data tracking and synthesis of high-quality training content.

Work Location/Travel Expectations:
- This position is located at CCCS System Office: 9101 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, CO 80230.
- Occasional travel to system colleges for training may be required.
- Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and hybrid-remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
