Brief Job Description: The Learning Resource Network (LRN) Training Specialist V performs advanced training delivery work. Work involves delivering professional development, policy, systems, and manager training to HHS employees. This position promotes LRN course offerings and conducts training sessions that meet learner and agency expectations and provides the necessary skills for HHS employees to be successful in their jobs. This position routinely collaborates with LRN instructional designers to ensure consistency in content delivery. The LRN Training Specialist V also delivers content for the Leadership Development team as needed. This position works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Training Delivery and FacilitationDelivers instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and hybrid training using effective classroom training techniques and adult learning principles; utilizes instructor guide, participant guide, visual aids, presentations, gamification software, and virtual meeting tools; ensures content is taught as written to ensure consistency. (40%)
Course Preparation, Administration, and EvaluationPerforms pre-class administrative duties including but not limited to sending MS Teams invitation emails, sending marketing emails for low-class registration, and studying and preparing to teach a successful course; conducts post-course administrative duties including CAPPS administrative activities, administering level 1, 2, and 3 evaluations, and collecting, reporting, and analyzing course data. (20%)
Course Readiness, Pilots, and Train-the-Trainer ActivitiesCollaborates with instructional designers to learn new and revised course content; conducts and attends pilots of all new and extensively revised courses; conducts train-the-trainer sessions as designated lead for specific courses; attends train-the-trainer sessions as a participant and conducts teach-backs to receive approval of content mastery. (15%)
Training Innovation and Professional DevelopmentResearches modern adult learning delivery principles, techniques, and trends; stays abreast of industry training standards; implements new training delivery techniques; and seeks out and attends professional development opportunities and trainings. (10%)
Course Collaboration and Training SupportParticipates in revising course content in collaboration with LRN instructional design team as needed; plans, coordinates, and organizes training activities; performs other duties as assigned. (10%)
