 I. JOB OVERVIEW 
Job Description Summary:  | The George Washington University (GW) Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is housed under the Office of the Vice Provost of Research. The office provides programming around innovation, education, venture creation, and making connections to support GW entrepreneurs and the Mid-Atlantic startup community.

The Program Associate, reporting to the Executive Director of OIE, will play a pivotal role in managing communication, organization, and operational support for various programs within our organization. This position will work closely with their relevant Program Associate Director (PAD), assisting them in their duties to create and conduct OIEs educational, training, and incubation programs. This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of multitasking, facilitating communications, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders, including students, mentors, and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

Program Materials Maintenance Oversee student employees and ensure the accuracy and currency of course materials for relevant programs. Manage materials, filing organization, and maintain current copies of all program materials in Box or other departmental filing programs 
Team Communications: As directed, maintain and ensure the timely dissemination of program-related communications Ensure that departmental customer relationship management (CRM) and mail distribution platforms are up-to-date and that mailing lists are properly maintained Facilitate and address inquiries related to assigned communications, including directing assigned student employees, providing timely support and guidance. Coordinate activities, as directed, regarding newsletters and other general-release communications, ensuring relevant content is curated and distributed effectively.
Reporting and Tracking: Generate and maintain reports related to program activities and student engagement as directed. Assist the assigned Program Associate Director with recruitment and assignments of mentors, instructors, speakers, and other key operational elements of OIE programs.
Event Coordination and Program Operations: Source and manage speakers as directed Assist the assigned PAD in conducting successful events by ensuring sufficient student employees or interdepartmental staff are assigned to manage relevant events After training, provide teaching assistant (TA) training for any OIE program as assigned
Business Development Support: Provide operational support for business development initiatives, both internal to GW and any external partners. Assist with any onboarding or training of new partners and contributors as directed.
Collaboration: All OIE team members are expected to provide assistance to ensure the successful operation of the office, regardless of whether it is part of their regular assigned responsibilities Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or assigned PAD. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:  | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  | Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Google Drive, spreadsheets, and relevant reporting tools is desired. Previous experience in program coordination or a related field is preferred.
