 I. JOB OVERVIEW 
Job Description Summary:  | Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Projects, the Program Associate, Research Operations supports the priorities of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) by managing projects, events, and administrative operations. This role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of research initiatives, intramural funding programs, signature events, and more. Serving as a key support partner to the Director of Operations, the Program Associate helps manage priorities, track deliverables, and support day-to-day operational needs.

This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys event coordination, and can manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage OVPR events, workshops, and signature programs (e.g., InnovationFest), including logistics, communications, and on-site execution Collaborate with campus partners to plan meetings, develop materials, and track deliverables Support the facilitation of intramural research funding competitions Provide day‑to‑day management for OVPR initiatives, special projects, and technical operations including, but not limited to, data entry. Draft meeting materials, track action items, and assist with status updates for leadership  Develop draft policies, operating procedures, guidance and proposals, documenting and analyzing workflows to identify process improvements, etc. Prepare meeting materials, project plans and/or executive updates related to special projects, programs and initiatives. Maintain organized records, documentation, and program data Serve as a key point of contact for faculty, staff, and external partners Deliver high-quality customer service with professionalism and responsiveness Assist the Director of Operations with administrative and project management tasks Contribute to process improvements and efficient workflow management Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:  | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  | Experience managing large-scale events or academic programs. Experience in higher education or research environments. Familiarity with tools such as InfoReady, Drupal, or similar platforms. Demonstrated ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and manage time. Excellent writing and communication skills. Strong knowledge of MS Office. Experience providing executive support in an academic environment.  Requires a strong work ethic, proactive, professionalism, and commitment to integrity. Demonstrated ability to perform data research, multitask and effectively prioritize and manage time.
