The Office of Events is a growing department at Utah State University whose mission is to ensure that university-hosted events, conferences, and programs exceed expectations. We are seeking experienced and dynamic Event Coordinators (Program Coordinator II) to manage events ranging from simple meeting requests to multi-day conferences. It is common for events to be hosted outside of a typical working day schedule (8 AM-5 PM). Applicants should be prepared to work non-traditional hours when applying for this job, including some weekends and holidays.
This role involves overseeing all phases of event management, from initial planning to execution and follow-up while working with a variety of clientele. The Event Coordinator will work closely with USU departments, campus and community partners, and various vendors to deliver impactful and well-executed events. The position requires strong organizational skills, client service experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Advertised Salary: Commensurate based on salary plus excellent benefits ADA:
This position operates in a professional office environment as well as on-site at various event venues, both on and off campus. The role requires frequent movement throughout indoor and outdoor event spaces, which may include standing for extended periods, walking long distances, and navigating uneven surfaces. Some lifting and transporting of event-related materials may be required. Work hours vary depending on event schedules and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. Occasional travel is required for off-site events.
Mental demands of the position include managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, and adapting to last-minute changes or unexpected challenges. The position requires a high level of interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
