Description of Work | We’re looking for someone to join our team to support a dynamic student community. The
Program Coordinator advances student belonging and holistic success by coordinating programs, services, and engagement opportunities that support students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
The Program Coordinator will: Develop, coordinate, initiate campus partnerships, and implement student programmatic initiatives focused on creating a campus climate of cultural excellence and belonging with a goal of increasing student success, recruitment, and retention. Monitor and track program expenditures through financial statements, records, and program expenditures. Hire, train, and lead student support staff. Collaborate with Student Life Marketing to develop and implement marketing campaigns for Student Culture and Community events.

Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience. One year of experience in an academic, administrative project, or program coordination role, similar experience will be considered. Experience engaging and supporting students and communities across a broad range of identities, backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and areas of interest. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to coordinate programs, events, workshops, and community-building opportunities. Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, campus partners, and student organizations. Ability to work collaboratively across campus in support of an embedded service model. Ability to communicate effectively across differences, identities, and perspectives. Basic knowledge of student development, identity-based support, campus engagement, or community-building practices. Ability to use sound judgment and discretion when responding to student needs.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in Higher Education, Sociology, Educational Psychology/Psychology, Leadership, Program Management/Administration or related field. Experience generating external funding sources (fundraising, grants, etc.). Direct experience developing and implementing workshops, programs, and services across a broad range of topics and interests. Experience supporting programs or services emphasizing belonging, identity development, or student community-building. Previous experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication and outreach plans. Experience working collaboratively with varied campus and off-campus entities. Working knowledge of student development and leadership education theory. Preferred candidates will demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills, or abilities in the following areas: Knowledge of student development and support, campus climate, and resource navigation. Demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive student needs and partnership work with professionalism, discretion, and care. Working knowledge of student development and leadership education theory.
