Job Description:

This position is grant-funded and contingent upon future funding.

Under general direction, responsible for the development and implementation of entrepreneurship programs serving targeted populations, with a focus on expanding resources and opportunities within Latin America, Indonesia, the Southwest region of the United States, and Tribal communities in Arizona. This position has responsibility for developing and executing strategies to expand DreamBuilder and DreamCatcher programming in targeted communities. Provides additional support to the broader portfolio of programs, including but not limited to: mobile labs, conference events, and other programming as assigned. Works collaboratively with Global Development and the Freeport staff responsible for DreamCatcher and the DreamBuilder platform, managing and implementing all aspects of program operations for the delivery of successful, high-quality programs. Manages project risks, expectations, and change through identification of the budget, time, and resources.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000; to commensurate with education and experience

Essential Duties:

  • Oversees the implementation of Global Development's commitments for programs related to DreamBuilder and DreamCatcher, entrepreneurship training programs for women entrepreneurs in targeted geographic communities
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing funder relationships, managing relationships with partner organizations, processing all reporting and payments, managing external vendors, working with technology vendors on program development, and achieving all promised program milestones
  • Develop strategies and successfully implement programs as conceptualized in partnership with the funder and conducts appropriate program evaluation to support strategic recommendations for future funding
  • Develop relationships and partnership with key leaders, nonprofits, educational institutions and other organizations within targeted communities to ensure the successful delivery of entrepreneurship programming to serve members of those communities
  • Coordinates the activities of faculty assigned to support the delivery of educational content and executes appropriate paperwork in accordance with Thunderbird and ASU policies
  • Supports efforts to coordinate activities across the broad portfolio of DreamBuilder and DreamCatcher programs to ensure continuity with respect to program brand management, program delivery and evaluation
  • Works to ensure accurate data is being collected and analyzed for the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the programs
  • Provides reporting and other supporting materials to program funders and partners, governmental agencies, and various nonprofit partner organizations, including annual reports and quarterly reports. Works closely with ASU administrative departments to provide all necessary information for adherence to grant requirements
  • Manages the budgets for projects and programs. Responsible for managing payments and change orders, as well as making budget adjustments, as necessary
  • Develops and manages marketing and promotional materials, including collateral, external websites, and social media. Supports department level social media and marketing needs
  • Hires, manages and evaluates contractors and student workers
  • Represents Thunderbird, Global Development, and associated programs at conferences and networking events
  • Frequent travel is required to cultivate relationships, work with program partners, or represent Global Development at events
  • As necessary, supports other Global Development projects and department activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Tribal communities and knowledge of the unique business environments within those contexts is strongly desired
  • MBA or master's degree in related field
  • Professional fluency in Spanish
  • Experience in entrepreneurial initiatives and/or entrepreneurship training
  • Experience in gender related work, development, or education
  • Proven record of managing project execution and delivering results
  • Successful professional experience providing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a higher education, or a globally focused organization, and/or executive environment
  • Skill in simultaneously managing and appropriately prioritizing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic work environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work 
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Use office equipment including a calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax and copier.
