Program Manager Full Description

Overview:

Program Manager in the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP). Position is dependent on funding by New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison between the School Point Person and the LPP Program Director to provide support services to students who are eligible to participate in the LPP
  • Supports Interns for consistency and continuity in providing support services
  • Upon referral and acceptance into an LPP program, students receive services that align with their academic, social and emotional needs and the associated risk of dropping out of school. The Program Manager will provide these services, as well as oversee Interns in providing these services, aimed at improving high school graduation rates and preparing students for postsecondary education or workforce entry
    • Services may include academic support, individual case management, college/career preparedness programs, mentorship, experiential learning, civic engagement, family support services, and Personal Learning Plans

LPP was established in 1988 under Section 612, Subdivision 6 of the Education Law to address the significant dropout rate among New York's youth The mission of the LPP is to maximize the successful transition of middle and high school students, who are at risk of dropping out of school, into graduates who are fully prepared for the rigors of higher education and the competitive demands of the workplace

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Master's degree preferred
  • At least five years of prior relevant experience

  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently

Maximum Salary: USD $60,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary: USD $48,000.00/Yr.
