Job Summary | Recruits and manages external relationships with employers for the Cooperative Education (co-op) Program in the Washkewicz College of Engineering (WCE). Provides orientation, advising, and programing for students in the program. Coordinates and performs a variety of administrative and operational activities that support the WCE program. Develops, coordinates and organizes recruiting and other related events for this program. Works individually and in groups with students in co-op preparation. Manages relationships with co-op sponsoring employers. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration, marketing, communications or related field. Three (3) years of experience in a student related service area in education or related organization. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under the CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree preferably in business administration, marketing, communications or related field. Three (3) years of experience in higher education advising, career services, co-op, or in a student related service area. Familiarity with engineering undergraduate and graduate programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) | Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and across a broad spectrum of the CSU community. Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities. Possess strong public speaking skills. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed, and forward-thinking. Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans. Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information. Ability to motivate, coach and develop others. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel and work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
