Job Summary
Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas is looking to add to our Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters team an individual who is motivated, inspiring, with a people-first mindset to deliver the Center’s proprietary brain health and performance tools.

This position will be serve as a BrainHealth subject matter expert, working as a team with a lived experience (former military) subject matter expert, to deliver in-person SMART (the Center’s Strategic Memory Advanced Reasoning Tactics, a top-down strategy-driven framework for critical thinking) seminars to active duty military, score and debrief these individuals on the BrainHealth Index, and provide ongoing coaching of strategy implementation to individuals as warranted. Will require relationship-building and professional follow up with points of contact and key stakeholders. Will require travel.

Candidate is motivated to work with individuals who are seeking improvement in (any area of) performance. Has interest in brain health as a holistic driver of human performance. Has ability to meet people where they are and motivate to action. Will be part of a team that is working to institutionalize community-wide utilization of brain health concepts and tools. Can confidently speak at individual- and audience-level across military ranks and will use feedback and inputs in an agile manner to constantly learn and improve delivery of cognitive tools. Will help to establish longer-term roadmap for sustained engagement. Is a team player, adaptable, and challenge ready.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, psychology, human performance, sports psychology, or related field; 3 years working with adults in a coaching or rehabilitation setting; has understanding of and/or is willing to learn about the military community, including op-tempo, opportunities, obstacles, and cultural norms.

Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):
· Delivering / facilitating in-person SMART – serving as brain health SME, teaming with a living experience (former military) SME
· Collecting and synthesizing SMART participant feedback, reporting this back to Project Director
· Successfully completing train, the trainer for SMART and passing facilitator competency evaluation
· Coaching military service members, support personnel and spouses on implementation of SMART strategies
· Debriefing military service members, support personnel and spouses on BrainHealth Index performance
· Demonstrating competency in BrainHealth Index debriefing
· Scoring online BrainHealth Indexes
· Utilizing the BrainHealth dashboard for online content
· Collaborating with team and partner organizations to implement / incorporate BrainHealth tools into existing service structure
· Collaborating with program team to establish long-term roadmap for sustained engagement
· Traveling to command / partner sites for onsite engagement
· Communicating with embedded providers and military leadership in written and oral format
· Reporting to Program Director and Operations Officer, ensuring routine updates on progress
· Developing and maintaining relationships within the community to sustain engagement



Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Frequent out-of-state travels for meetings and conducting trainings are mandatory. Office and training facility environment. Long hours on computer.

Additional Information
Hybrid remote work environment available and a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
