Educational Outreach - Access ASU is hiring a Program Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the ASU TRIO SSS Programs at ASU Tempe and serve as the team lead for recruitment and career connected programming for ASU TRIO SSS programs.

 

The Program Manager works on a team performing work of considerable difficulty and independence in strategizing, administering, and coordinating programs and services. The ideal candidate must work well in a fast-paced, flexible environment, provide a high level of customer service to both the university and external communities, and make strong contributions both as an individual and as a team player. This position requires evidence of effective time management skills and success in being accountable for specific outcomes.

Essential Duties:

  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data.

  • Research, develop, implement, and assess programs.

  • Work collaboratively across various departments and campuses within the University

  • Supervises the activities of assigned staff.

  • Directs the recruitment of participants across all TRIO SSS programs

  • Leads and facilitates the development of high impact career connected learning opportunities across all TRIO SSS program in collaboration with peers

  • Day-to-day oversight of the two Tempe SSS program operations.

  • Provides goal setting and program evaluation and supports data collection for appropriate reports to the designated supervisor. 

  • Leverages institutional resources and efforts to enhance the TRIO student experience.

  • Ensures effective and efficient use of personnel and resources in the administration of program activities.

  • Supervises performance and development of program staff.

  • Participates in outreach opportunities to educate community members about TRIO Programs.

  • Attends professional development opportunities to enhance program success.

  • Serves on University wide committees that enhance the TRIO student experience.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, to include some evenings and weekends.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of a Master's degree.

  • Experience in managing and supervising staff.

  • Experience with program development.

  • Experience working with students in higher education.

  • Experience in TRIO or other federal grant programs.

  • Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases. 

Working Environment:

  • Position is in-person, primarily at ASU Tempe; however, incumbent will regularly be required to travel to off campus events, other ASU campuses to perform work.

  • Professionally represent department/program and Arizona State University.

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to perform essential duties.

  • Supervise staff

  • Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing, and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen, using mouse and keyboard, and sitting.

  • Sit or stand for duration of shift, climb stairs, or walk moderate distances to perform work.

  • Lift up to 15 pounds.

Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, some of which include the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, TRIO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services, Access ASU and others
