Programmer Full Description

Job Summary
The role of the programmer is to establish the pipeline for converting while-slide imagery files to OME.TIFF format and for displaying them on the OMERO virtual microscopy platform. This work requires cooperation with the IT Department of the Academy of Natural Sciences and Dr. M. Zarella, University of Pennsylvania.
Essential Functions
  • Execute the transfer of the file conversion pipeline on the new server provided by the ANS IT. 
  • Execute transfer of the OMERO import pipeline on the new server provided by the ANS IT. 
  • Document the code for both pipelines and complete the instructions for pipeline maintenance. 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree.  
  • Java, Linux programming skills. 
  • Familiarity with processing whole-slide microscopy imagery.

Additional Information
This is a Full-Time Temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
