Job Description | General Description:
The Programmer Analyst will serve as a key member of the enterprise application integration team, supporting the development, maintenance, and integration of mission-critical information systems that enable the College’s academic and administrative operations. The role involves gathering requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions, and ensuring seamless data integration across multiple platforms. Systems in scope include ERP platforms (e.g., PeopleSoft), legacy databases, cloud applications, document libraries, and other higher education technologies—across both cloud and on-premises environments.
Duties and Tasks:
Develop and maintain data integrations between systems using vendor APIs, flat file transfers, and custom scripting. Design and maintain databases and data pipelines to ensure reliable, secure, and accurate data flow. Build and support middleware components such as APIs, ETL routines, logging mechanisms, and audit trails. Contribute to the documentation of all developed solutions, including technical specifications and user-facing guides. Participate in code reviews, apply patches, and collaborate on shared development tasks as part of a cross-functional team. Troubleshoot, test, and optimize integrations and workflows to meet evolving business requirements. Competency in problem diagnosis and resolution. Ability to be logical and detail oriented from requirement analysis to development and testing to ensure error free product that solutions are robust and meet user needs.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | KSAs: Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems. Demonstrated high-level analytical skills involving complex projects that utilize data from multiple sources. Proficient with web and application development tools and technologies (e.g., .NET, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs). Solid understanding of relational database design and development. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to complete projects on time and to work with a minimum of supervision and guidance. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce technical documentation, data maps, and user instructions.
Minimum Work Experience:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scripts and integrations for data flow between enterprise systems. Customer service experience
Additional Considerations: Experience in programming languages including (but not limited to) .NET Core, C#, CSS, JAVA Script, Python. Experience and proficiency in Oracle, SQR, People Soft SIS and query development. Experience working independently and developing methodology. Experience in PeopleTools Development Experience in Peoplesoft BIPublisher Experience developing in both cloud-based and on-premises environments. Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance best practices in a higher education context.
